Thank you from the Chaplain at Vela

For many years Living Church Creek Road campus have partnered with PresCare Vela to help bring the joy of Christmas to the residents through Carols and a bible talk.

Last year looked a little different, with a smaller team, and some restrictions we had to adhere to, but the message of Jesus coming to earth was still clearly proclaimed through song and scripture.

The Chaplain at Vela, George Michael would like to thank the team, and encourage the church in our continued partnership:

I would like to thank the following members of your church congregation for their contribution to the Carols by Candlelight service at PresCare Vela on Thursday 17th December 2020.

Wes and Di Fittell compiled a Carol songbook and compared the evening.  Tim Collard, set up the sound system and operated it for the evening.  Jacqui Solomon played keyboard, and Annaliese Solomon and Maria Grace sang with us.  Your members worked well with other volunteers to make for a wonderful evening.

I received positive feedback from many residents about this event, which I believe reflects well on the Church of Christ.

As you know, PresCare is in the process of finalising their formal ministry in Aged Care in 2021.  However, I believe the Presbyterian Church, through its members and individual churches can still have a meaningful ministry to the Aged Care Sector in our community, through volunteers and church contact.

Once again, thank you to the members who volunteered for the Carols evening and for your church’s support for PresCare Vela in 2020.  I look forward to partnering with you in ministry in 2021.

Yours in Christ
Chaplain George Michael.

Please join us in praying for the team and residents at Vela.

  • Pray for George and his team as they undertake to share the love of Jesus with residents.
  • Pray for our ongoing partnership with Vela even through the changes happening there.
