Surplus Brainstorm Update

As part of the budget presentation at the ‘Towards 2022’ event at the start of Term 4, we asked tables to brainstorm ideas of how to spend some expected surplus funds.  We find ourselves with a surplus because we have been very fortunate to receive rental income from 4Cyte Pathology, who are using part of our carpark as a covid testing site, as well as monthly distributions from Fabinrose which we were unsure would happen, given the difficult climate businesses find themselves in this year.

There were some great ideas collected from that brainstorming session and our Finance Manager, Janet Sutton, together with our Treasurer, John Wallace, took a first look at them and starting grouping them into categories and frequency (many ideas were suggested by multiple tables).  On Monday Janet and John met with 2 other Committee of Managers, Divya Judge and Rob Storrs, to deliberate further, narrowing ideas and starting to make a list of possible options to explore.

More work will be done on this list over the next couple of months and the Committee of Managers hope to bring you a suggested list to vote on early next year.  If you have any questions about the process, feel free to contact either Janet (janetsutton@livingchurch.org.au) or John (johnwallace@livingchurch.org.au).
