Congregational Meeting – 18 July

On 18 July 2021 the Living Church Charge met for a Congregational meeting, with the Interim Moderator chairing the meeting and constituting the meeting with prayer.

Lease of space in Creek Road Campus Carpark for a COVID 19 drive through test site

The interim moderator outlined the motions. He advised that background to the proposal has been provided
prior to the meeting. The interim moderator called for questions then asked for movers and seconders of the
motions. He then asked if any persons wished to speak for or against the motions. After this, he called for a vote
on each motion.

A call to vote by show of hands was requested:

  1. That Living Church Carina agree to the proposal from 4Cyte Pathology to enter into a lease for a COVID
    testing site on the carpark of Carina campus from August 2021.
  2. That the lease after due consultation on acceptable terms with PCQ Receivers, lawyers and insurers be
    provided to PCQ Property board for endorsement, then to the Mowbray Presbytery for church
    governance approval before execution by the PCQ Receivers.

This motion was passed with by 95% of members present.

Update on Search for Pastor

Dave Thurston outlined the current call to James Snare and subject to Covid 19 the timing of his preaching and
the steps after for the congregation and PCQ to effect a call.

Update on PCQ receivership

John Wallace provided an update on the board decision to join the Facilitation group of congregations to address
matters relating to congregation assets and obtain legal advice on these matters.
