A couple of weeks ago, we started sending SMS reminders for rosters 4 days before and 1 day before.  If you have volunteered at anytime in the last couple of years or if you join a Ministry Team in the future, we thought it would be good to give the background story.

The short story behind this is that we wondered if it would help people recall that they are rostered on for the coming Sunday. In the short term, it seems to be helping.

The slightly longer story is – our Rosters are generated sometimes months in advance and so it is understandable if dates slip people’s minds, or their circumstances have changed.

So, the SMS Reminders are designed to give people time to find a swap or a replacement, so that on Sunday, Ministry Teams are in the best possible place to serve.

Elvanto has great functionality for rostering, reminders, altering your settings for how you’re contacted, setting your unavailability, checking rosters.  All of which can be completed on your phone or on your computer.  If you would like a hand to access these features of Elvanto – please reach out – email office@livingchurch.org.au or come and chat with the people at the Next Steps Desk & they will be able to help you.

It is possible to “opt out” of SMS reminders.  It is a setting on your page in Elvanto that you can “untick” and Save.
